Animal Farm Q2.:)

Who are the main characters in the novel? Do you like them? Why or why not? What is special about them? What do they reveal about the universal human experience?

There are many characters in this novel however I think the most important ones are Napoleon and Snowball. First of all, I honestly don’t like Napoleon in this novel. He is a self-conceited pig who doesn’t actually care about the animals in the farm but only cares about himself. He never actually had a time where he took time to consider or listen to the other animal’s thoughts. Also he “educated” the puppies not for their good but so that he can outgrow his power with them and take charge. At the end, I don’t think he even realized what he did to the farm. He was blinded by his own power and temptations of growing bigger and bigger. On the other side, Snowball was a total opposite character of Napoleon. He truly cared about the animals and only focused on what he can do to improve the animal farm and achieve the goal/dream that the old major had in mind. He took chances to make the animal farm a better place but at the end it didn’t work out because of Napoleon. Both the characters reveal something big about the human universe. This world isn’t all about “good” and “bad”, it’s about who has the power and who doesn’t. Snowball was a nice pig but this didn’t mean he got everything he wanted. Life isn’t fair and at the end, everything might turn out the way we didn’t want it to.
